William Bingman
A native of Altoona, PA, Bill Bingman, earned his Ed.D from West Virginia University. He has spent 37 years at Frostburg University as a Professor of Education, and has been director of its Children's Literature Centre for the past 27 years. In 2008 he received the Frostburg State University Outstanding Mentor Award 2008. His hobbies include reading, gardening, and bicycling.
Bill has been an active member of the Friend board since 1996, serving as a vice president and now its president since 1998. Children's Programs, especially involving literacy, remain his main interest. “It has been a privilege to serve as the President of the board for the last ten years,“ Bingman said. “I can attest to the dedication of the Board members, its administrative staff and to the excellent staff of the Library. It is my hope everyone will support our mission.”
